What Clients Are Saying About Neurofeedback

I called several Neurofeedback therapist before calling Carmen. From the moment I talked with Carmen by phone she made me feel welcomed and caring for what she does. The other Neurofeedback therapist seemed to only be interested in charging and were not flexible on scheduled times. When I met Carmen back in October of last year I had multiple problems from to much stress to not being able to sleep at night. Carmen then started to threat me twice a week and recommended many books. She is very helpful and caring. She does not look at time and never rushes you for any reason. I have recommended Carmen to many of the friends and family and will continue to visit with Carmen on a monthly basis. If you suffer from any stressors to not being able to sleep to depression I highly recommended you call and visit Carmen it will change your life Guaranteed.

I started working with Carmen because I wanted to increase my productivity at work. I sought out Carmen’s Neurofeedback process because I found positive research on the subject. She was very patient and understanding with me. As a result of the work we did together, I have noticed more clarity in my thinking process. That is very important to me because my work is demanding and I need to show up at my very best. I would enthusiastically recommend Carmen to anyone that wants to take their productivity to a new level.

I met Carmen a few months ago through a mutual friend and was introduce to Neurofeedback. after careful consideration and some research I decided to go with her and I’m extremely happy I did.
I am a CEO of a company in Los Angeles CA and initially saw her for stress control and for advance personal high performance achievement.
After a only few sessions with Carmen I saw that my days were happier less stress and was on an overall better state of mind to deal with the day to day chores of running a company. Carmen is very caring and always give extra in time and special attentive to my needs. She tailors our session exactly to what I need and more often than not she surprise me on how on point she is and professional to see the problem and have a solution for it.
Price wise there is no comparison to what she offer and the marketplace , were other specialist charge twice then her and deliver less, she is all about results. also she have the latest technology to use and deliver printed progress reports after each visit. I highly recommend her for any treatment she offers as she is one of the best in her field .

I decided to see Carmen because of challenging issues at this stage of my life. She is so knowledgeable in her field and I trust in her with my eyes closed, but aside from that she is compassionate and really gets to the core of ones issues .She takes to detail and listens patiently in each session. She gives 100% and more! She opens your mind to see positive solutions in daily life issues. I would highly recommend Carmen in any area of your life you are having challenges.

I am working with my friend and fellow Chamber member, Carmen Hamerski, of Cognitive Wellness Neurofeedback. She is helping me with some sleep issues, and after only three sessions, I”m already noticing results (it’s not difficult, I don’t wake up in the middle of the night anymore). As an added bonus, I notice my creativity getting better, in the past week I’ve thought of two great job search related workshops that I want to develop. That will take time, but the bottom line is that my lines of creativity have opened up. If you have any issues whatsoever holding you back in any aspect of your llife, go see Carmen. She’s an awesome lady and a very knowledgeable and wonderful clinician.

Thank you, Carmen, for the always amazing neurofeedback session! Neurofeedback is helping me in so many ways…the more sessions I have, the faster the results!! It has so many benefits—from insomnia, motivation, PTSD, anxiety, trauma, ADD, pain management, hormones, and much more. I highly recommend her…it will change your life!

My experience with Biofeedback/Neurofeedback, along with having Carmen be my guide, has been an extraordinary and life-changing experience. Since childhood I’ve been painfully aware that I’ve not managed stress well, which in recent years began to show itself in growing symptoms of anxiety (in particular obsessive worries about something happening to my husband and children), feeling perpetually emotionally charged (easy to go from one to ten in the car, at work or when parenting), continuously exhausted (a byproduct of being constantly reactive), along with bouts of claustrophobia (from airplanes, to tight fitting clothes, to the dentists chair). After trying several other approaches to healing, many were enlightening, but none had a lasting effect… until now. As a wife and mother, I am immensely grateful that Biofeedback/Neurofeedback has freed my body, mind and spirit of behavior that no longer served me or those around me. I feel alive, peaceful, restored and armed with tools to help me navigate my way, and I am so grateful to Carmen for being the compass to guide me through.

I saw Carmen at The Biggest Loser Resort. She made me feel so good about myself, and due to her I didn’t leave the resort. I suffer from anxiety and depression. I’m still seeing Carmen and I feel better and better every day. The neurofeedback brain training is so important in our lives, we need to slow down and take time to see her. Thank you Carmen, you are very special to everyone you meet!

Neurofeedback is the most valuable thing I did at The Biggest Loser Resort besides exercise. It helped my sleep, my depression and my migraines. I now sleep through the night for the first time since I was a teenager, and according to my partner, my sleep apnea is totally gone. I was so impressed that I booked extra sessions to work on things like confidence and self esteem and general pain. Neurofeedback did for my mind what the rest of The Biggest Loser Workouts did for my body! Thank you so much for all the time and energy you put into helping me become the new me!

Jessie

The spa and wellness staff here at The Biggest Loser Resort has been incredible and were integral to my functioning during my time here. I found doing neurofeedback with Carmen to be so helpful and powerful; it is a service I wish more guests were aware of here, as it is an incredibly useful tool in that it helped me both physically and emotionally. I have felt its lasting effects since leaving The Biggest Loser Resort, but continued doing it when I returned because I so strongly believe in its value.

It is with great pleasure that I write a letter for Carmen on her Neurofeedback Sessions. I invested the month of March at the Biggest Loser Resort and transformed myself.

Prior to arriving, I had been taking sleeping pills for 11 years. My parent’s health was failing, and I needed to be with them frequently, which was a 6 hour drive each way. I also have a successful financial planning practice and found that the sleeping pills were the only way I could put myself to sleep at night.

When I arrived at the Resort, Carmen did a presentation on the benefits of Neuroffeedback. I was immediately interested in the benefits of a peaceful night’s sleep! After the first treatment, I was able to have a more restful night’s sleep. With each treatment – my sleep patterns improved! By the last half of the month, I was able to get to sleep within 5 minutes of going to bed.

I have been sleeping pill free since the middle of March! Sleep is an essential ingredient to a healthy lifestyle and weight loss. I cannot thank Carmen enough for giving me my sleep patterns back! I found the treatments to be relaxing and fun

I highly recommend this amazing program! It has brought the sunshine back into my day, and I feel so much better!!!

Farah

Hello, my name is Farah. In October I suffered a stroke and began to experience subtle short-term memory loss. I visited Carmen on several occasions immediately after my stroke in order to lessen the damage; and to my surprise, after the first few neurofeedback sessions with Carmen, my short-term memory began to return. To date, I have no residual damage from the stroke, and I am certain that it was due to neurofeedback that I have been able to recover fully.

I was also able to sleep better than I had ever slept before, even though we were not necessarily targeting sleep disorders. I am so impressed with neurofeedback therapy that I’m planning to return for more sessions, and I have referred my friends, husband and mother to Carmen for treatment. Not only is Carmen a professional in the true sense of the word, but she is also compassionate, deeply caring, and very nurturing. I definitely recommend Carmen and neurofeedback therapy to those in need of a treatment for their ailments without a need for prescription medications.

Tom

I went to Carmen’s office because I was suffering from severe migraine headaches. I had suffered from migraines for years, and I was determined to find a method of treatment that would help me without the need for medications. After 10 neurofeedback sessions, my migraine headaches diminished greatly, and after 20 sessions, they appear to have permanently disappeared. I wish I had known about neurofeedback years ago! I plan to visit Carmen again in the near future. She’s amazing and a very caring individual.

Sarah

I’m Sarah. I visited Carmen for neurofeedback training back in November. I went to her because I was experiencing some emotional issues as the result of extreme stress, weight gain, and also for peak performance at work. After my 10th session with Carmen, I felt like a new person. The anxiety I suffered from stress had dissipated, and I began to do better at work due to her work with peak performance. We spoke extensively about what was causing my weight gain and began to address those issues as well. My weight gain was only slight, but I have begun losing weight regularly.

After a brief break, I continue to visit Carmen and I’m well on my way to becoming my old slim self, and stress free! Neurofeedback therapy is the safest way to go! I am so surprised so few people are familiar with such a miraculous therapy.

Karen

Hi! My name is Karen and I came to the Biggest Loser Resort @ Fitness Ridge on July 31, 2011. During that time I went to see Carmen to have her do Neurofeedback with me on several different occasions for emotional issues and my Diabetes and High Blood Pressure. I did about 20 sessions with her where we worked on targeting my Diabetes and High Blood Pressure. Within 4 or 5 sessions both my Diabetes and High Blood Pressure started regulating itself. Within 17 weeks of being at the resort, I totally reversed my Diabetes and was taken off two of my Diabetes medications. I truly believe that the Neuro Feedback was a contributing factor of being able to reverse my Diabetes.

Carmen was sympathetic, kind, generous, and understanding and we have become very good friends because of this. She made my stay at the resort comfortable, safe, and bearable. When things got tough, she was there to listen and to comfort me.

Vicky

I visited Carmen’s office because I was experiencing short-term memory loss, which in turn was causing me great anxiety. After the very first session I noticed that I didn’t need to write things down in order to remember them as often as I had before I visited Carmen. After about the fourth session, I noticed that I was sleeping better, and my stress had diminished greatly. I’m planning to return to Carmen for some additional sessions, and I also plan on sending my daughter to her as well. Everyone can benefit from neurofeedback therapy as most of us have an issue or two, whether it be emotionally, cognitively or physiologically, that keeps us from enjoying our lives fully. I recommend Carmen for neurofeedback therapy without hesitation.

I want to write a short expression of appreciation about the Neurofeedback service I received while at BLR and hope you can channel this to the appropriate people:
During my stay at the Biggest Loser Resort – Malibu from the end of Aug 2011 for two weeks, my goal was to start the change of eating habits/patterns. I did not realize I would also find a means to help with the emotional aspects of myself. I am writing to commend the EEG Neurofeedback and Carmen Wylie. Carmen managed to fit 10 sessions into the last week I was at BLR and has kept in touch after my departure to make sure I have the Neurofeedback support in my home town. It was because of her guidance, support, and knowledge in EEG that I feel I have made significant improvements in the areas of self esteem, emotional reactivity and depression. I was pleasantly surprised and greatly appreciated her follow up efforts and sincere concern for my wellbeing after I left BLR. I hope I can come back soon for more BLR therapy! 🙂

Sharon

I did spend quite a chunk of time with Carmen doing (neurofeedback) sessions. This was an excellent part of my whole process and transformation for the week I was engaged in the fitness program. It was relaxing, my energy the next day was better, and I felt empowered to let go of emotional baggage getting in the way of my physical training performance. One thing I worked with in neurofeedback was grief. I then was in kickboxing, my favorite class, and felt so charged moving through the mental blocks coming up. I contribute this to the neurofeedback hand-in-hand with the excellent work out training together I was receiving to push beyond my limits. I’m surprised that Carmen’s skills are not more highlighted by the trainers and at the introductions. The biggest complaint I heard among clients (guests) above soreness was trouble with sleeping and staying asleep. Neurofeedback is excellent for this.

What Professionals Are Saying About Neurofeedback

Frank Duffy, MD, Neurologist, Head of the Neuroimaging Department and of Neuroimaging Research at Boston Children’s Hospital, and Harvard Medical School Professor, conducted an independent review of the literature on neurofeedback for Clinical Electroencephalography (2000). He summarized his findings as follows:

“The literature, which lacks any negative study of substance, suggests that EEG biofeedback therapy should play a major therapeutic role in many difficult areas. In my opinion, if any medication had demonstrated such a wide spectrum of efficacy, it would be universally accepted and widely used.”

In a recent paper Update on attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder published in Current Opinion in Pediatrics Katie Campbell Daley reviewed the research and practice standards on treatment of ADHD. Dr. Campbell serves on the staff of the Department of Medicine, Children’s Hospital Boston and in the Department of Pediatrics of the Harvard Medical School. She concluded:

“Overall, these findings support the use of multi-modal treatment, including medication, parent/school counseling, and EEG biofeedback, in the long term management of ADHD, with EEG biofeedback in particular providing a sustained effect even without stimulant treatment…parents interested in non-psychopharmacologic treatment can pursue the use of complementary and alternative therapy. The therapy most promising by recent clinical trials appears to be EEG biofeedback.”

A recent special issue of Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Clinics of North America was devoted to emerging interventions that affect brain function. Neurofeedback was featured in seven of the ten chapters in the volume. The volume editors provided an overview and clinical perspective on all the approaches presented. About neurofeedback they concluded:

“EEG biofeedback meets the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry criteria for clinical guideline (CG) for treatment of ADHD, seizure disorders, anxiety (OCD, GAD, PTSD, phobias), depression, reading disabilities, and addictive disorders. This suggests that EEG biofeedback should always be considered as an intervention for these disorders by the clinician.”
